I'm told they're particulary fond of beaver. That's Clarence Muse, the well-respected actor, at the far right wearing the big grin. Maybe he caught the prey!

I heard (I mean, I read) that Louise Beavers was kind of "jazzy" back in Black Hollywood. That she smoked, drank, gambled, and like a lot of mens...ala Dinah Washington. But she was well educated.
It was Hattie MacDaniel (former Blues Singer) who was more of a "proper lady" in Black Hollywood. So, I read.
