Famous movie mega-maid, Louise Beavers, surrounded by a smiling, ravenous, wily wolf-pack, early 1940's. Ah, wolves - good looking animals! They'll eat anything when they get hungry enough. I'm told they're particulary fond of beaver. That's Clarence Muse, the well-respected actor, at the far right wearing the big grin. Maybe he caught the prey!
Every one of those dudes looks like somebody I would love to have had.

I heard (I mean, I read) that Louise Beavers was kind of "jazzy" back in Black Hollywood. That she smoked, drank, gambled, and like a lot of mens...ala Dinah Washington. But she was well educated.
It was Hattie MacDaniel (former Blues Singer) who was more of a "proper lady" in Black Hollywood. So, I read.
