Finding that Valentino had ties to Black America shouldn't be surprising. It seems that anyone involved in American popular culture gets a great many of their ideas from Black folks--especially in music and dance.

Fascinating article, and I was especially delighted to see the shout out to Lorenzo Tucker.

Just a few minor things to point out, if you'll permit me. I believe the photo you have captioned of Jacques Hebertot and Ramon Novarro is actually a 1930 photo of Gilbert Roland and Novarro. Not to denigrate Mr. Hebertot in any way, but...well..you'll see what I mean...
