Taylor Siluwe was a brother-blogger, cyber-buddy & supporter of this blog! Of course, he was so much more than just that but it's how I'll always remember him. Unfortunately, we never got the chance to actually meet but now that's not going to happen. Brother Taylor lost his battle with lung cancer on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at the age of 43. The strange and unsettling thing about it is that I didn't even know he was sick!
About two weeks ago, "something" told me to touch base with Taylor because I realized I had not seen him online nor heard from him in some time. Of course, in my laziness, I also realized that I had not visited his blog either. I am sorry to say that it was a stray thought that I did not act on. If I had done so, I would've been aware of his issues and had the opportunity to offer kind & encouraging words. That didn't happen either!
Today I pay tribute to another brother GONE TOO SOON!
In November, 2009, Taylor gave me an amazing, insightful interview upon the release of his first collection of short stories, Dancing With The Devil. The book and the interview remain one of my favorites! I'd like to share the link to it here: Dante's Inferno: DANCING WITH THE DEVIL & TAYLOR SILUWE!
Taylor Siluwe was the author of several more books such as A Taste for Cherries and Cheesy Porn and Other Fairytales. His short stories and essays appeared in numerous magazines and anthologies. Taylor was also a LGBT activist in New Jersey and throughout our larger community. He will be missed!
This was a wonderful man. We disagreed way back in 2001 and were able to disagree without being disagreeable! I pray his soul rests in peace a wonderful, talented and focused human being

Whenever I see his picture online I still feel like he is still here with us.
