OMG! The man DOES know how to smile! And what a nice smile it is! Those were my thoughts when I first saw this photo of Cleo Manago, an image which seems in stark contrast to his uber-serious media personality. He thanked me for the compliment and said "I smile quite often yet those pics are usually not chosen by the media, or that I don't like taking pictures is revealed in my lack of a photographed smile." Perhaps Mr. Manago should take heed and reconsider his stance.
On the other hand, it's no secret that some of us are suspicious of a black man who smiles too much! Does that suggest that Cleo Manago might be hiding a sense of humor behind his sometimes sour (but often riveting) online persona? Let's hope so!
Cleo Manago is the creator of two powerful 21st Century acronyms, (SGL) Same Gender Loving and (MSM) Men Who Have Sex With Men. Manago has over 20 years of service in the field of HIV/AIDS in the black community and is the founder of such key organizations as the Black Men's Xchange. The CDC recently approved $350,000 a year for the next five years for his organization, AmASSI (African-American Advocacy, Support Services and Survival Institute). Just don't call him a gay activist. PLEASE!
